Prevent Pain by Performing Stretches at Work

Performing the same motions over and over, sitting too long at a desk, or doing heavy lifting can really take a toll on your body, cause pain, and have you reaching for the phone to call your chiropractor to schedule a treatment as soon as possible. Here are a few easy stretches that can be done multiple times a day. Hold each position for five to ten seconds, relax, and then repeat three times.
Six Chiropractor Recommended Stretches to Prevent Pain
Finger Stretch - Keep your hand in line with your wrist and then separate and straighten your fingers. Next, bend your hand down at the middle of the knuckles, being sure to keep the wrist in the same position.
Leg Stretch - Stand up and hold on to something while lifting one leg up toward the buttocks. Grab your foot and keep your knees together. Hold the stretch and then repeat with the opposite leg.
Back Stretch - Take one arm and place your hand on your upper back behind your head. Take the other hand and gently grab the elbow. Pull your elbow until you feel a good stretch and then switch arms.
Arm and Shoulder Stretch - Straighten both arms in front of you lacing your fingers together with your palms facing out.
Neck Stretch - Look down and then move your neck from right to center to left, pausing in between each position.
Shoulder Rolls - Roll the shoulders up and then back down, squeezing the shoulder blades in between.
