Chiropractic FAQs: Chiropractor in Atlanta Provides Answers

chiropractor in Atlanta answers frequently asked chiropractic questionsDespite the increasing awareness of chiropractic care’s role in overall health and wellness, some people may still have few questions regarding our care. As a longstanding chiropractor in Atlanta, our team leader Dr. Jared Simon helps to clear up questions and misconceptions about what we do here at Century Center Chiropractic. Dr. Simon has been serving the surrounding community since 1992, and area residents may have even heard him on the radio or seen him on TV.

Atlanta Chiropractic Center Responds to Questions on Education and Treatment

What type of education and background must chiropractors have? Chiropractors have some of the most rigorous educational and training requirements among all healthcare professionals. Four years of pre-med undergraduate studies precedes a chiropractic college, where students must complete at least 4,200 hours of classroom work combined with laboratory and clinical work. Next up are rigorous exams to become licensed. Our Atlanta chiropractic clinic’s Dr. Simon graduated from Life Chiropractic University and went on to obtain licensure in Georgia, New York and at the national level.

What exactly do chiropractors do? Chiropractors use natural methods that focus on the restoration and correction of the musculoskeletal system to ensure the body is working at its optimum level. If something is amiss with the spine, it often affects the entire body. Spinal adjustments are a common method used by many chiropractors. Our chiropractor in Atlanta is also experienced in various other healing techniques that include Gonstead, Activator, Flexion/Distraction, Thompson Drop and Motion Palpation.

What conditions can chiropractic care treat? Back pain is one of the most common conditions we treat at our Atlanta chiropractic center, but there are many others that can be helped by chiropractic care. These include neck pain, shoulder pain, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, sciatica and headaches. Any disorder of the musculoskeletal system may be fair game. We can also supplement our chiropractic techniques with other natural healing methods to create a comprehensive pain management or corrective plan.
